For a senior journalist this is an exciting opportunity to join a small team covering the whole world. You will get unique insights into the drastic changes we are witnessing in global energy markets, as the world recovers from the pandemic, and as the global fleet plans for upcoming decarbonisation targets. You will join a team that is working to make opaque bunker fuel markets more transparent through hard news stories and analysis. The position will be based in India, either working from our Mumbai office or remotely.

 Responsibilities

  • Report news stories on the shipping industry and global energy markets
  • Develop good rapport with contacts to gather and report accurate and unique content
  • Write factually correct and succinct news stories about global bunker fuel markets
  • Report stories from press releases, webinars and events in the global energy and shipping industries
  • Write scheduled and off-diary stories for ENGINE’s newsfeed and social media pages
  • Conduct interviews with bunker and shipping industry experts
  • Meet rolling deadlines and file grammatically sound and clean copy
  • Structure and maintain spreadsheets to compare bunker fuel prices and other relevant info to write up stories from
  • Spot trends in bunker fuel pricing, quality, supply and demand
  • Back up news articles and other content with notes
  • Dig up and pitch stories, and communicate effectively with the rest of the ENGINE team

 Experience

  • A university graduate with a strong degree or diploma in journalism, energy or shipping
  • 2-5 years of experience from a news media outlet, preferably an internationally focused newsroom or publication
  • Know how to find interesting story angles and write up articles based on press releases and interviews
  • Be able to gather information from various sources and combine it into clear and succinct news stories

Senior Data Analyst (India)

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of customer data in the CRM and data in a number of other systems, ensuring it is accurate, relevant and structured
  • Develop data queries and dashboards to identify data irregularities and work with the data team to address them
  • Ensuring the links between internal systems are working well
  • Help maintain software integrity, spotting bugs and errors, investigating and reporting them

Bunker Purchaser (Singapore)

We are looking for bunker purchaser to join Bunker Trading team in Singapore.

Core purpose of the role:

To liaise with Japanese / Korean suppliers regarding the supply of bunker fuel and to manage, build and maintain business relationships with current and potential suppliers.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Liaising daily with suppliers
  • Managing and maintaining supplier relationships and improve supplier support
  • Coordinating with supply teams for all other offices
  • Sending Deal recaps / trade confirmations
  • Helping Maintaining index/spreads etc with Integr8 analysts
  • Setting up new supplier credit lines

Operations Executive (Mumbai)

We are looking for operations executive to join Tanker Operations team in Mumbai.

Core purpose of the role: To co-ordinate the day to day operational activities of voyage and time chartered tankers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with agreed charterparty terms
  • Oversee agency appointments
  • Communicate with charterers, brokers, agents and vessels regarding voyage orders and vessel itineraries
  • Handle letters of indemnities
  • Monitor vessel movement and voyage performances
  • Review vessel stowage and tank cleaning plans
  • Support Chartering desk in pre fixture documentation
  • Liaise with owners regarding oil major approvals

C# Backend Developer (Mumbai)

We are looking for back-end developers to join our team of developers in a multinational tanker company. The role involves working on a variety of projects of varying sizes, writing back-end code, including console apps, services and APIs (using ASP.Net Core). We develop both internal backend systems and customer-facing applications. The majority of our work is hosted on-premises and not on any cloud infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of SQL and databases; a lot of what we do revolves around data so it’s necessary to have a good SQL foundation. The ideal candidate should be proficient in the C# language, the .NET Framework and possess good OO design skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic developer who has an approachable and supportive personality to complement existing, friendly and open team of developers.

Our development team is based in both Singapore and Mumbai; this role is based in Mumbai. The role is expected to work in the office on Monday to Thursday, with Friday being an optional work-from-home day.

Business Associate Integr8 (London, Singapore)

Objective:

This is an intensive 3 months target driven training programme which has been designed to develop bunker traders in record time. The candidates are given all resources and training needed. In order to successfully complete the training programme you will need to show proactiveness, drive, entrepreneurial qualities and resourcefulness.

 

Bunker Trader Training Programme:

Duration of training programme:

  • 3 months (during probationary period).
  • After completion of program the candidates will be offered a permanent position as a bunker trader.​Phases:Phase 1: First month
  • Bunker Operations: Candidates will be assigned a Senior Bunker Operator to teach them how bunker deliveries work. During this process, the candidate will be assigned several deliveries for them to operate and coordinate while being supervised by the Senior Bunker Operator.
  • Vessel Operations: Candidates will get an introduction to vessel operations and will be expected to be able to display understanding of what vessel operators take into consideration when performing bunker planning and procurement.
  • Market Information and networking: Candidates will be asked to show commercial initiative and develop in depth market knowledge from the start. This includes sales training.​Phase 2: Second monthPortfolio development: Candidates spend phase 2 networking and building their customer portfolio simultaneously to develop their sales skills and market knowledge.​Phase 3: Third monthTrading: Candidates will get the opportunity to refine their approach to sales and commence with assisting their newly created portfolios with bunker procurement alongside a senior trader. All candidates are expected to have successfully started trading before the end of phase 3.

The Role: We are always on the look out for experienced bunker traders to join our growing business in any of our locations.
