Ship Owning
Investing in ships is both a strategic objective and a trade opportunity. By investing in shipping assets, the group demonstrates its long term commitment to the industry. As a ship owner, Health, Safety and the Environment are of paramount importance. The Group's commitment to these areas is reflected in the clearly defined policies and procedures laid down by the in-house technical team. Shipowning also facilitates optimisation of our trading strategies by identifying dislocations between asset values and long term charter rates.
It also serves the creation of a substantial balance sheet, hence enhancing our credit standing and providing access to better deals with stronger counter-parts.
We improve the potential risk-return profile of ship owning by utilising creative financial instruments. Our first new buildings were delivered in Q4 2007 and Q1 2008.
